Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral?

If you require a rebate from Medicare or the Department of Veteran Affairs you will require a referral from your doctor. Otherwise, there is no need for a doctor’s referral.

Do you bulk bill?

If you have a chronic illness (e.g., heart disease or diabetes) you can talk to your doctor and request an Enhance Primary Care (EPC) Plan. Clients with an EPC plan are eligible to receive $58 towards the cost of their consultation. For more information, check the pricing and rebates tab on our website.

Do I receive a meal plan as part of the service?

Yes, we provide meal plans if they are required as part of the nutrition care plan.

Can I use my Private Health insurance?

Generally, private health funds will provide rebates for dietetics. These rebates can vary according to your Health Fund and your level of coverage. We recommend you contact your insurer for more information.

How often do I need to come back for consults?

This will depend on your nutrition care plan. Mostly we will require to see clients fortnightly or monthly until they reach their goals or are satisfied with their progress.

How do you conduct online consults?

Your consultation will be conducted over our online patient platform in Kalix. This is quick and easy to set up even if you have not used it before. All consultations conducted via telehealth are private and secure. We recommend you join the call from a laptop or computer with an in-built camera for a better communication experience.

Do I need to bring anything to the first consult?

If you have recent blood test results, medication/supplement lists, food diaries, or any other information that is relevant to your condition please bring them along.
